About Adam

In the 1980’s & 90’s Adam and his two younger brothers grew up on their parents vineyard in the irrigation settlement of Coomealla, NSW. Raised to tackle hard work no matter the job and exposed to public speaking at a young age, Adam gained his skills to forge his own path in life.

Completing his qualification as carpenter apprentice of the year in 2000 and completing several diplomas in building, construction & finance management. Adam has operated his own business since the early 2000’s and been Executive Officer, General Manager and Project Manager for various companies the past 15 years.

Gaining some international perspective on how other people live, Adam moved to Canada for a year with his wife and best friend Colette. There he learned that Australia has forgotten what it is capable of and it’s communities need to take back what is rightfully theirs.

During his time in the building and construction industry, he has seen much decline in workmanship pride, consistently rising levels of exploitation, the institutional undermining of future tradespeople becoming builders, incredible corrupt behaviour from industry leadership littered with many scandals, more layers of red tape pushing the cost of housing up and an industry culture that will inevitably lead to industry collapse or revolution. He believes there is no amount of imposed regulation on the industry that will fix it, it is the culture which needs attention to restore value to Australians.

The past two decades he has been involved in multiple not-for-profit community initiatives which reinforced his strong sense of social justice, acting as spokesperson and leader holding different government authorities and politicians accountable for undermining community’s wishes and exposing their vested interests. A good deal of his experience seen him walk the hallways of Canberra and quickly concluded the institutions we are asked to respect and rely on are broken and need to be held accountable and rebuilt.

The fire in Adam’s belly began to rage in recent years when working as executive officer for a national peak body, only to find their culture to be dysfunctional, rusted on and did not represent the community. He publicly exposed their corruption due to several directors misusing tax payer’s monies. Trying for several years unsuccessfully engaging with multiple government departments and politicians asking them to listen and care about the wrong doing and realising they were all politicially compromised and comfortable sweeping it under the rug. However, recently his perserverence prevailed successfully having the case taken up by the Integrity Unit.

Adding to his frustration when working through the approval process launching his poultry farm in Tasmania he found once again there was no genuine representation for many small family operated poultry farms. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE) was making large unchallenged and overreaching decisions to poultry farming without any consultation with all the farmers. Adam gathered all the farmers together, they formed the Tasmanian Pasutre Poultry Producers (TPPP), together developed their industry positions and Adam led a team to meet with the current Tasmanian Agriculture Minister and express their demands, putting NRE on notice.

These life events have left Adam believing our communities have made too many comprimises already, too many retreats. The captured political parties undermine our prosperity and we fall back, they sell out our future and we fall back. It cannot stand any longer, the line must be drawn here, this far, no further!
